Mundelein LUNCH

Mundelein LUNCH

is a loose affiliation of volunteers (mostly from Mundelein churches) who are working together to serve free, healthy meals to children in select Mundelein parks every weekday over the summer school break.

Where and when are meals served?

Mundelein LUNCH has two service sites:

Hanrahan Park

Gordon Ray Park

For 2022, the program runs from June 6 through August 12.

Meals are served at both locations every weekday (Monday-Friday) beginning at noon until 1:00pm or supplies run out, whichever comes first.

There is no service on Monday, July 4th.

Who can get a free meal?

Any child 18 or under is eligible to receive a meal free of charge. No ID is requested and there are no residency restrictions or registration.
The only restriction is that the meal must be consumed on site.

About the Meals

The meals are provided each day by the Northern Illinois Food Bank and the costs are covered by the federal government's Summer Food Service Program. The meals served meet the same standards for quality and nutrition as school lunches.

A menu of upcoming meals is available at each serving site.
